How much does Booklinker cost?
Booklinker is free. It's offered by the team behind Geniuslink as a dedicated tool for book promotion by authors, literary agents and publishers.
When can I create a Booklinker link for my book?
Any time after the book is published. This can even be for pre-order sales, as long as there is an available retailer link.
Are Booklinker links case-sensitive?
Yes! For example, "http://mybook.to/themartian" is a different link than "http://mybook.to/TheMartian" which is different from "http://mybook.to/THEMARTIAN". Being able to use capital letters in different places allows for many options with the same title.
How does Booklinker handle links for wide vs. exclusive books?
If your book is available on multiple stores, your smart link will send readers to a retailer Choice Page where they can choose their preferred retailer, with links automatically localized based on their location. Currently supported stores include Amazon, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
If your book is exclusive to Amazon, your smart link will skip the Choice Page and send readers directly to their local Amazon store.
If your distribution ever changes, you don't need to create a new link. Just find the smart link in your dashboard, click "Edit," then click "Save," and Booklinker will automatically update your link to reflect your current retailer availability.
Will these landing pages cause friction for my readers?
No, they actually help. Through our research and case studies, we've become firm believers in what we call the "Choice Effect," the idea that when you give your buyers a choice, sales increase.
Landing pages with multiple buy options give readers a shortcut to purchasing on the platform they already trust. If your book is only available at one store, your link will skip the landing page entirely and send readers straight there.
What are Collections and how do I make them?
A Booklinker Collections page is a group of your existing Booklinker links pulled together on one landing page. For example, you can create a Collection page with all your books, your first in series, or books in a specific genre.
To make your first collection, visit your links page and choose the books you want in your collection by clicking "Add to collection" next to each one. Don't forget to name your new Collection page.
What is link localization and how does it work?
Retailers like Amazon, Apple, and Barnes & Noble are global retailers with separate online storefronts all around the world, each optimized for different audiences with different languages, currencies, taxes and more.
Your links direct each international visitor to the storefront that is local to them, making it easier for readers anywhere in the world to buy your book.
How can I check if my links are sending visitors to the right stores in different countries?
- Start with your Booklinker link.
Example: https://booklinker.net/yourbook
- Add /iso2/xx to the end of the link.
Replace "xx" with the two-letter country code for the country you want to test.
- Open the new link.
It should take you to the correct Amazon store for that country.
How are clicks measured?
Here at Booklinker we work hard to provide you with the accurate data you require to fine tune your book marketing. Because of this, Booklinker attempts to filter out bot crawlers and "junk traffic" to give you a better picture of human engagement with your links.
Can I earn affiliate commissions on book sales from my links?
Yes! Booklinker supports the Apple Services Performance Partners (ASPP).
To start earning commissions, visit your Affiliate Settings page and follow the instructions given.
Why do Booklinker links show a disclosure about commissions?
Due to regulations from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and requirements from Amazon in 2019, website operators and content creators are required to disclose whenever they use links that generate commissions through affiliate programs.
Can I use the Amazon Associates (Affiliate) Program with Booklinker?
To maintain Booklinker as a free service we have partnered with Amazon and earn a small commission on the traffic generated. Should I migrate to Geniuslink?
It depends on what you need. Booklinker is free and built specifically for authors — including personalized book collection pages and automatic retailer matching that Geniuslink does not currently offer. Geniuslink is a paid product that adds advanced reporting, custom routing rules, and Amazon Associates support across any link type.
